Education « Back
With both public and private schools, two universities, a technical college and several trade schools, the Myrtle Beach/Grand Strand area offers a wide diversity of educational choices.
All children between the ages of 5 (by Sept. 1) and 17 must enroll in school. The Grand Strand is served by Horry County Public Schools and Georgetown County Public Schools. The Horry County Schools rank as the third-largest school district in South Carolina's 85 total districts. The system is nationally recognized for leadership in technology. There are also private schooling options available. New residents should contact the school district for information on which schools serve your neighborhood.
